WELCOME to the WESTMINSTER POLICE DEPARTMENT WEBSITE
The Westminster Police Department consists of 12 full-time sworn officers - the Chief, the Lieutenant, two Sargents, a Detective and 7 Patrol Officers.
We also employ four part-time patrolmen too.
There are four full-time dispatchers and several part-time dispatchers, three secretaries, two crossing guards and an animal control officer.
The department is responsible for 37.34 square miles of land, over 100 miles of roads including five highways which travel through town.
We are bordered by the City of Gardner to the West, the City of Fitchburg to the East and are located in Northern Worcester Count.
We provide services to over seven thousand residents.
We operate marine patrols and all-terrain patrols seasonally.
We are responsible for a portion of the Wachusett Mountain State Reservation and the ski lodge at its base.
A portion of the Leominster State Forest is also located on the South East portion of town.
The Mohawk Trail also passes through the town as well as the Johnny Appleseed Trail.
The police department also has a police boat which is used to patrol the area lakes.
An all-terrain vehicle is also at the departments disposal for trail patrols and searh and rescue operations.
